What is your background?
I come from a very small village in Portugal where my life was pretty much the opposite of what I have now. I grew up around very catholic and non-understanding people, so I never really felt like I could be myself there. At a young age, I already had a couple of tattoos and piercings, which were not accepted at all. When I moved to Copenhagen 6 years ago, people didnโ€™t care at all what I looked like, and I felt more at home.

How did you get into piercing?
I started to pierce around 7 years ago, but I have always been super interested in piercings and body modifications because I think itโ€™s a cool way to express yourself, and it makes me feel more like myself. It all started when I went to Lisbon to take a short apprenticeship with one of the best piercers in Portugal. Since then, I have been educated and worked consistently with piercings.

What is the best part of your work?
I love to have consultations with my clients here at LINE&JO, where I get to help them explore how many different kinds of piercings you can get, and advise them on what piercing fits their anatomy the best. In that way, we always get the best results where the piercing and jewellery sit perfectly. It makes me proud and humble to have a job where people trust me to modify their bodies in a way that empowers them.
