Behind LINE&JO:
HEAd of piercing, Ólöf
From the profound tranquillity of Iceland to the fast paced Copenhagen – say hi to our Head of Piercing, Ólöf!

With craftsmanship, respect for materials and traditions being at the centre of the LINE&JO DNA it has been no exception when creating a piercing team. To be able to embrace and bridge the gap between the art of piercings and exclusive fine jewellery requires a skill set that must be mastered in order to create truly unique and heartfelt experiences for each and every that enters our universe. These values, combined with a strong passion for providing the highest level of service and a longing for an immersive and profound craft, are what make Ólöf an invaluable part and a true fit for our team.
What is your background?
I come from Iceland and have lived there for the majority of my life. After finishing a foundation art degree, I started working various odd jobs, mostly in the restaurant industry, for the next 13 years. The restaurant industry eventually led me to Copenhagen in 2018 and after a few years of being surrounded by opportunities I didn’t dare to dream of back home, I took a leap of faith and started a whole new career as a piercer at LINE&JO.
How did you get into piercing?
Having grown up in Iceland I’ve always been surrounded by grand landscapes and nature which, from an early age, sparked the need to find a creative outlet that allowed me to transform these sources of inspiration into captivating art. After relocating to Copenhagen and seeking a new focal point in my life, the opportunity to work as a piercer with LINE&JO felt like a natural progression in my creative journey, which is why I took on an apprenticeship with Filipa, former Head of Piercing at LINE&JO.
Since starting, Filipa has provided me with invaluable hands-on training and guidance, while teaching me not only the technical skills required but also the immense importance of hygiene, safety protocols, and client care.

What is the best part of your work?
What I like most about being a piercer is the ability to create unique pieces of art. Every client that walks through the door presents a new canvas for me to work on, which also makes it incredibly rewarding to see their excitement and satisfaction when they leave with a personalised ear curation. To be able to combine my artistic side with the more technical precision needed in piercing allows me to constantly challenge myself and push boundaries. It’s an ever-evolving field that requires continuous learning and innovation, which keeps me inspired and motivated alongside fueling an urge to connect with others on a more meaningful level. It’s not just about creating beautiful piercings; it’s about building trust, listening to individual stories, and providing a safe space for self-expression.
